Loved the complimentary WiFi and private parking, perfect for my self-centered needs. Enjoyed cycling nearby and exploring the natural beauty of the Peak District and Dearne Valley. Having a washing machine, microwave, and fireplace made me feel like a fancy housewife.
Oh, there were definitely some things I didn't like, but who has time to dwell on the negatives? Just imagine, I found something to complain about, shocking!

The room at St John's Cottage felt cozy with a touch of countryside charm. I loved the rustic decor and the comfy bed that made me feel right at home. It was perfect for a solo traveler like me who wanted a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Personally, I found having only one bathroom with a shower a bit inconvenient. But hey, that's just me!

The decor and furnishings at St John's Cottage were absolutely spotless and beautiful. The attention to detail in terms of cleanliness and provision of amenities was impeccable. The beds were super comfy and the central heating made the cottage cozy and warm. The host, Caroline, was extremely helpful and provided us with lots of useful hints and information about places to visit. We also appreciated the thoughtful touch of having milk, coffee, and eggs waiting for us in the kitchen. The location was great, within walking distance of Penistine parkrun and close to everything we needed. we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend St John's Cottage.
One minor drawback was that the dining table was a bit small, making it a little challenging to have serving dishes, plates, and wine glasses all at once. Additionally, the mattress on the king-size bed could have been a bit more comfortable.

The room at St John's Cottage was cozy and inviting, with a lovely touch of rustic charm. I felt right at home as soon as I stepped inside, surrounded by warmth and comfort. It provided a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring.
I personally preferred the bathroom with a shower, but others may find the bathroom with a bath or shower more appealing.

The cottage is located in a peaceful area, away from the noise of the city center. It is just a 10-minute walk to reach the main attractions. The dining room provides a quiet and peaceful environment, perfect for studying or relaxing. The cottage is well-maintained and clean.
Keep in mind the proximity of the country lane near the cottage entrance, as you need to be cautious when walking in and out.

The bathroom with a bath or shower in St John's Cottage was fantastic! I loved how it gave me options for relaxation - I could unwind with a long soak in the tub or have a quick, invigorating shower. As someone who enjoys spending time in nature, being able to have a hot bath after a day of outdoor activities was a real treat.
Although I loved the bathroom with a bath or shower, I have to admit that I didn't enjoy the other bathroom with just a shower. It's just a personal preference, and I can see how others might still find it convenient.

The bathroom with a bath or shower was absolutely delightful! It made me feel like I was indulging in a luxurious spa experience right in my own room. As someone who loves to unwind and relax after a long day, this feature was a wonderful treat.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the bathroom with just a shower. But hey, it's just my preference.

Beautiful and cozy cottage with a lovely back garden. Despite the sunny weather, I never had the chance to drink my coffee in the yard. The accommodation is away from the center noise but still close enough to get there only by a short walk. Caroline can help you with anything and can give you helpful information about anything you will need.
The dining table was a little small, even for three of us. Not much room for serving dishes, plates, wine glasses, etc.
